Cut Style
Paper House puzzles are grid cut which means the pieces form a grid. As you can see from the pictures below, the pieces are quite similar. Many times ribbon cut puzzles will give you false fits, which adds to the challenge.
Materials
Paper House Productions uses paper on both sides of their jigsaw puzzles. This makes them more expensive to produce, but it results in a superior feel, reduced dust, and eliminates warping.
Benefits of Doing Jigsaw Puzzles
There are so many benefits to doing jigsaw puzzles. They’re great for keeping your brain sharp. I use them for concentration, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
In addition to those skills, they help teach pattern recognition, shape sorting, color recognition, problem solving, and even patience.
Does Jen Recommend Paper House Jigsaw Puzzles?
I do recommend the Le Chat puzzle by Paper House.
I chose this puzzle because of the vibrancy of color; the artwork is just beautiful!
My main issue at the beginning was not being able to use my puzzle board. The puzzle was just slightly bigger than the board and the edges kept sliding off. Once I moved it to the table things went a lot smoother.
The puzzle pieces are quite thin and didn’t stay together as I was building. It is not a puzzle you can work in sections. While they are just 1.4 mm in thickness, they were sturdy, and I liked that the puzzle back color matched the puzzle. A nice detail you don’t often see.
I was able to get 100% pick up at the end which surprised me.
The most challenging sections were the corners.. they seem to get me every time!
