However, their hand crafted steel die cut means every piece is unique!
Material
Ravensburger makes a very high quality product. Their puzzles are made from extra thick custom developed European blue board. The museum quality linen paper means the image will not peel up and also ensures a glare-free puzzle.

Image Quality and Resolution
The Abandoned puzzles are filed with moody colors and tend to be darker than Ravensburger’s other designs. The forgotten, forlorn aesthetic is what makes this series so popular.

Benefits of Doing Jigsaw Puzzles
There are so many benefits to doing jigsaw puzzles. They’re great for keeping your brain sharp. I use them for concentration, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. Must stave off the brain cloud.
In addition to those skills, they help teach pattern recognition, shape sorting, color recognition, problem solving, and even patience.
Jen Recommends
I definitely recommend the Abandoned series.
Fair warning: the image on the box is slightly brighter than the puzzle itself. I kind of expected that as part of the charm of the series is the darker, moodier colors.
The Gloomy Carnival was not a difficult puzzle, but you’ll want good lighting while working on it. I would have missed some of the really cool details if I’d only been using natural lighting.
Once I began the puzzle I didn’t want it to be over. It took me about a day or so to finish, but it’s one I would do again.
I look forward to doing more puzzles in this series, especially Hotel Vacancy and the Forgotten Arcade.
Also keep an eye out for the Lost Places series if you are interested in other creepy, desolate location puzzles.
