Leogor Wooden Puzzle Materials and Cut Style
Cut Style
Leogor employs a random-cut style for their puzzles. Random cut puzzles feature pieces that are cut in various shapes and sizes, often with whimsical and non-uniform edges.
This technique adds an extra layer of challenge extra level of challenge to solving the puzzle, as it eliminates the visual cues provided by the regular grid pattern.
My 200 piece Nature’s Balance puzzle had 30 whimsy pieces.
Materials
Leogor wooden puzzles are made from Basswood, also known as American Basswood or Linden. Basswood is technically classified as a hardwood, but its wood is surprisingly light, soft, and very easy to work with.
The image is printed using the G6S Ricoh inkjet which produces high-resolution, vibrant prints with excellent color accuracy and detail.

Benefits of Doing Jigsaw Puzzles
There are so many benefits to doing jigsaw puzzles. They’re great for keeping your brain sharp. I use them for concentration, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
In addition to those skills, they help teach pattern recognition, shape sorting, color recognition, problem solving, and even patience.
Does Jen Recommend Leogor Wooden Puzzles?
Let’s chat about this brand of puzzles.
I liked my Leogor wooden puzzle. It was not dissimilar to other wooden puzzles, though I found the cuts to be more intricate and the pieces are the thickest I have seen.
The packaging was very well done. Tucked inside the box, which has a magnetic closure, was a detailed full color reference poster which outlined every piece in it’s place. I actually used the poster once to find a tricksy edge piece.
Also included was a postcard with info on their other designs and a scratch off card for a discount code on a future purchase. I thought this was a very clever idea and would love to see other brands follow this example.
The colors on this puzzle are beautifully rich and the glare is at a minimum.
There were 30 whimsy pieces. Previous wooden puzzles I’ve done, which you can read about in my Wooden Puzzle Showdown post, vary in the number of whimsy pieces from zero to eleven.
If you’re looking for a challenging and rewarding puzzle experience, or simply appreciate the beauty of handcrafted wooden products, Leogor is a brand worth exploring.
